Fire fox 57 laggy in text entry and scrolling

Just updated to FF57 on a windows 10 PC. New version shows considerable lag. When typing in search bar, letters can take as long as 15 seconds or so before they appear. Also when scrolling down a page, there is often a delay of a few seconds before page reacts. This is true whether using a scroller mouse or the side scroll bar. Tried running under safe mode and a re-install to no avail. I finally decided to go back to version 56.02 and everything works fine again.

I had all the same problems with even longer lags. Going back to ver 56.02 worked well for me on my desk top. I had dificulty going back to ver 56.02 on my Dell Laptop and Firefox 57 has some of the same problems but not as bad.
