Is there any way I can stop this? I don't want 57, it sucks.
Everytime I log in, I have to stop my computer and then the browser from updating by choosing no to the questions. Chrome is starting to look really good....http://forums.mozillazine.org/posting.p ... =post&f=38#

Re: Firefox trying to update to 57
In FF go (Menu) Tools > Options > General
Now look for the options concerning Firefox Updates. Select the option: Never check for updates (not recommended) Close the options tab. Restart FF and you should find you're not being nagged about updating any more.
That's it. But, of course, you'll be stuck with an older version of FF. Really FF 57 is pretty good, noticeably faster than my older 56.x install. After tweaking it a little I'm happy with it.

The above may still not prevent the update if Firefox has already downloaded the update and is waiting for the 'Restart' to complete.
Look in: C:\Users\USERName\AppData\Local\Mozilla for a folder 'Updates' Just delete this folder with Firefox Closed. Then doing the above may stop your Update issue.
