Firefox v57. Passwords not saved & other errors.

Post by LIMPET235 »

Hi guys,
Just installed v57.
Added TamperMonkey & installed 4 of the "usual" Moderators scripts.
They displayed correctly at 1st.
Now! They do not. they do, BUT not sure if they function. :)

Passwords are not being saved, even when Firefox asks & displays the drop down.
There are no entries via the Tools > Options > Privacy & Security > Saved Logins screen.

I installed Ad Block Plus, which now comes with EHH pre-installed.
It does not function.
When I try to select an element to hide, it opens the "Add Filters" box but there's no code being displayed/added for the selected item.
The Add & Cancel buttons do nothing.
I can close it with the "red x."

The few installed extensions are...
> Simple close tab button.
> Simple new tab button. (Disabled.)
> Tab Session Manager.
> TamperMonkey.
> Youtube MP4 Downloader.

One theme installed...
> Clear Transparent Glass.
No difference with the "built-in" themes.

Cleared the cache etc., etc.
Any ideas?

[edit]
For some unknown reason, some the above seem to have rectified themselves.
Ad Block Plus is still faulty.
I now have the Mods "scripts" showing up.
But, the Quick Move & Reply are non functional, as is the other option..."Move" after adding your comment.
Just found another one.
The Submit button did not function the 1st time when I tried to reply to GbMan's request to move a post in Mod/Spam/Login forum.
viz; > http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic ... #p14778375
It worked the 2nd time.

On Win10, would the menu bar & the blank part of the tab bar be white in any case?
(On Win7, they're blue.)

Any error messages in Error Console?

Maybe try your bookmarklets with your extensions disabled.
Fire 750, bring back 250.

Thanks for the suggestions. Much appreciated.
There's nothing in the Support fora link that helps.
I've tried them all.

(As for my UA showing WIN 10, etc., etc.,.....please disregard it. I'm running WIN 7 & an old/er Firefox version.)

The top bar is clear & the Menu/Nav/Bookmarks Bars are all pale blue.

I can log in to these fora no probs...just that no Passwords or UN is loaded into the PW Manager.
It's totally blank.
Not sure which Error Console you mean, as there seem to be quite a few, now in 57.
viz; NET, CSS, JS, SECURITY, LOGGING, SERVER.
The Browser Console only shows 2 Errors.
"The resource at “http://www.google-analytics.com/ga.js” was blocked because tracking protection is enabled."
Whatever that is?

All the Bookmarklets work fine.

Really weird going-zon.

Are you clearing the "Site Preferences" or "Offline Website Data" option in the "Clear All History" dialog?

WebExtensions broken, unable to store or retain data

Please don't shoot, but :
You're not using a Password Manager add-on, are you ?

Hi Happy,
Many thanks for that old/er link.

I just un-installed v57.....(after backing up the Profile, of course)
re-booted, re-installed v57 & it still failed.

I had re-named those 2 files (cert8.db & permissions.sqlite), before performing all of the above & nothing worked.
This time it has. (A re-name is always safer.)
I now have a couple of PW's etc., in the PW Manager.

Yipee!
Thanks. Image
I don't know why it didn't work the other time, just glad that it did so, now.

May even have a cuppa to calm me down.

Talk about frustrating. Such a simple glitch.

@ morat...
Nope. Only thing checked on close is the cache.
I never use the Clear History option.

@ Happy...
Nope. No PW Manager.

Ta mucherly once more.

Now... on to the other "stuff."

A cuppa won't calm you down - unless it's decaf .....

Glad you got things working again, though - yay !

While not applicable here, this is what I was thinking, [Tip] Get Colored Titlebar Back in Mozilla Firefox in Windows 10.
