This only seems to happen on the Daily Mail website. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/home/index.html
Sometimes, if I click open some articles with the middle mouse button to open in a new tab, sometimes the page text is completely messed up.

I think it's linked to the videos on that page.

See attached screenshot.

Any ideas how to sort this out?

Well, I went poking around and things seem fine. Do you have a specific URL that's always messed up?

It just happens randomly.
Think I've narrowed it down to a filter I am using in ublock which gets rid of the popout video player.

Try turning off the option to allow sites to use their own fonts.

Put the page in the W3C Validator - results may be why it's screwy 1382 Errors, 39 warning(s)

clear all filters in uBlock for dailymail and try again. or dont filter on DM (grey uB button).
if not helpful try firefox safe-mode if that wont help. ublock here restrictive set, no problem, not any.

and use the network logger to have a look what is filtered.

when page is fine this dont matter. have a look into firefox console which errors - in many cases its not usable or broken css. in most cases its by purpose.
eg the pre "moz-" is only used for older firefox, current versions dont use it and show error (ignore).

Hi, it still happens with ublock completely disabled.

The W3C page comes up with 690 Errors, 171 warning(s).

Firefox console gives several warnings and one error where the lines were in red and seem related to the video player on the site, which I think is the problem.
Is there anything I can do or is it the websites problem and I'll have to put up with it?

ypeError: Argument 2 of EventTarget.addEventListener is not an object.

reason why i advised you to use firefox safe-mode - its caused by extension - but not uBlock.

test video

no issues.

I don't have any other extensions installed.

Your example works fine here, and pages always display fine when I read them one by one.

The issue happens when...
I am on the Daily Mail homepage and I'll "middle click" open some articles that each then open in a new tab.
If those pages have videos, then that page is messed up like in my original post.

Site works fine now if I toggle javascript.enabled in about:config.
It is definitely a problem with that site and javascript. The rest of the internet works fine.
