Local Link Not open by using click

Dear Sir/mam,
We trying to open local file link many way but we not success. If any local file link received from outlook its not working Thunderbird mail by using click for example N:\KNOWLEDGE BASE\Cisco Price List\2012\pricelistaugust2012.xlsx
Please Provide solution for open local file link by using one click.

Local files usually have the format file:///

So in your particular case assuming that the link is located on your N drive would be:
file:///N:/KNOWLEDGE BASE/Cisco Price List/2012/pricelistaugust2012.xlsx

Note also that local files use a forward slash and not a backslash.

i have a similar problem. we use in our company a learning software. it works on a webbrowser. we use firefox esr 52.3.0.
the problem is, firefox doesn´t open the file link we saved in the software, bur the ie does. i tried following links:


no one did work. but all work with the internet explorer. is it a simple settings problem or what have i to do?

What happens if you go to, File | Open, then browse to the location of the pdf?
(Or better yet, open the pdf directly in your pdf viewer?)
