Like everyone else, I am being urged to upgrade from 56 to 57 (on a Mac with Sierra). One feature of 56 I really like is the ability to control which Cookies are blocked, which allowed for the session, which allowed to remain indefinitely. Does 57 have the same option as 56? On 56, it is accessed at Preferences>Privacy and Security>History>Exceptions...Cookies (Block, Allow for Session, Allow). If not, does 57 offer an alternative that is equally clear, as simple to execute, and effective? Thank you.

Yes. To check it our I would make a copy of your profile which would allow you to go back. You might also want to try this extension Cookie AutoDelete which has some great features.

RobertJ, Thank you for your comment. I looked at FF57 on another computer, and you're right, FF57 does offer the same option as FF56 for controlling cookies.

For visitors reading this thread, in my original post (and it applies here too, because it is the same in FF57) I neglected to mention that, where I wrote "Preferences>Privacy and Security>History>Exceptions...Cookies" I should have noted that in order to view "Exceptions...Cookies", a user must change the choice in the drop down menu at "Firefox will" from the default "Remember history" to "Use custom settings for history". That will display the option to "Keep third party cookies ... Until I close Firefox" AND the option at "Exceptions" to list websites whose cookies are Blocked or Allowed or Allowed for Session.
