Can I stop Stylish telling me to update it please?
The latest Stylish update makes using Stylish impossible so I have reverted to a previous version.
I manually check for add-on updates daily using the Check For Updates option (so Automatic Updates don't happen) and then untick the Stylish one which, of course, appears every time.
Is there a way please to stop this update being offered every time? Can I block it somehow or teach Firefox to ignore it?
Any help or guidance hugely appreciated please.

Hi MMM,
That's a strange one...
Go to the Addons site/page & at the top RHS there's a "Gear" button.
Left click & from the drop down, select "Reset all addons to update manually."
This, of course, means that you will have to check for updates.......yourself.
ps. &, it's Christmas, so where's your red & white, fluffy hat?

It appears that you can set each extension individually in the "More" options for each.
Never tried or used that, so....Let us know?

Re: Can I stop Stylish telling me to update it please?
Doh, confused now ... so I don't have to do each add-on one by one daily to check if it has an update?
Sorry but I seem to have my number 3 head on today - the stupid one

Re: Can I stop Stylish telling me to update it please?
If I open the add-on menu there is no 'More' option in the top drop-down panel (cog icon) itself. But, if I click on a specific add-on in the list the word 'More' does appear. Once clicked it takes me to the details of the add-on and to the right of the words 'Automatic Updates' then 3 boxes one each for ....
~ Default
~ On
~ Off
~ then a link named 'Check For Updates'
I have tried changing the Stylish add-on to 'Off' so it won't automatically update but when I use the main drop-down (the cog icon again) to click to see if there are any updates it offers me the Stylish one I'm trying to avoid.

This may or may not work, as I ain't up on all the prefs & their functions, but...
Go into your about:config page & look for "extensions.stylish.updatesEnabled"
Toggle it to False.
As for your Clippings extension, have you tried "updating it?"
I also use a free program called "101 Clips", although it only allows you 25.

Re: Can I stop Stylish telling me to update it please?
Tried that but the one that also appears when I put in extensions.stylish.updates refuses to stay at false .....
services.sync.prefs.sync.extensions.stylish.updatesEnabled;true
As soon as I restart Firefox it has changed itself to True. Been through the settings in the Add-On page and can't see any setting I have altered and gave all the settings a go while I was there.

Turned off the add-on Stylish Sync and now that entry in about:config stays at false but it hasn't stopped the Stylish update appearing when I click Check For Updates in the gear/cog menu.

One more & then I'm out.
If you are "checking for updates", then are you not doing a manual check for all?
Colour me confused.

Yeah, it wouldn't.madmudmob wrote:Turned off the add-on Stylish Sync and now that entry in about:config stays at false but it hasn't stopped the Stylish update appearing when I click Check For Updates in the gear/cog menu.
You can turn off automatic updating, but if you do a manual update check of all your extensions, then don't be surprised if it then tells you of any extension updates that are around - and that will include Stylish, if there is one. You just ignore it or do the manual update checks individually on just the extensions you do want to know about.
Some things are tech problems, but this one isn't. This is more a 'If you don't want the cold air to rush in when the front door is opened, then don't open the front door' type thing.
