Hi Peter,
Can you post what was listed in the Logon tab?
(Note: This will test your new ability to post a screen shot.......or your typing.)
I suppose that you've done a search for the culprit in Windows?
Try creating a new Firefox Profile, but do not transfer anything over to it.
Just use it as-is.

hey Mr.L
will download and install 'sysinternals' again, as I removed it already.
I shall do all that you suggest, but kindly give me a day or two to do so.
I have discovered also, maybe this can help in finding the cause, that there are two websites, that when I click on a link within them, that cause s the beastie window to open up. No other website appears to cause me that problem.
They are
https://thepiratebay.rocks/search/judge%20judy/1/3/0
https://eztv.ag/
These sites open ok, and nothing goes wrong until I do some action in that websitye window
if I don't get back to you in time, have a super duper Happy New Years m8

Hi Peter,
Sorry but I cannot assist with this anymore. I do not know or use "torrents."
As you say..."It's beyond my pay scale."
Maybe someone can assist?
You too, have a safe & Happy New Year.

Re: surfingdefenderext + Must update to FF 57
nothing to do with torrents, m8
it's a website where you can play with them if you see something you like, but the problem is not related to downloading or using the torrenbts, it's the actual websites.
should I still go ahead and follow your suggestions viz the new profile and the sysinternals
cheers
