What happens if Legacy Extension gets updated to Quantum

Post by pschroeter »

If an addon that is currently classified as a Legacy Extension by the Add-ons Manager gets updated to Firefox Quantum 57, does it reappear in the regular extensions list? I would hope the Manager would let me know it now worked and was available ,but deactivated in case I had tried to find a substitute. I have high hope Tab Mix Plus eventually gets updated, but have downloaded some addons that do parts of whats it used to do.

I can speak from experience: it will reappear in the regular extensions list.

In the case of NoScript, which was initially not available for 57, it was disabled upon running 57, but then once it became available, it automatically downloaded, updated, installed, & was running.

(I wouldn't know about any other extensions.)

If you did not want that to happen, I'd think you would need to manually remove that "Legacy" extension.
