no focus on new tab

when I click on link & get a new tab it is blank I have to click on the tab to get it to focus

it opens in background I must click on it to open in foreground to view it

also when I open new tab and want to go back I have to click on that also it use to be in the good old days just put your mouse on a tab and it comes to the front

I don't remember that unless you were using some type of extension involving tabs

Yup, that would have been a function added by an extension.

That may be true on a *nix system, but not for Windows. That would have been something you added via extension, like TMP.

Go to about:config and set the "browser.tabs.loadBookmarksInBackground" preference to false.
