Is it possible?...
Here are 2 odd questions to find our brightest Mozilla minds:
1) Is it possible to combine the menu bar and the navigation bar into a single toolbar?
2) Is it possible to create a button on the navigate bar (or menu bar) that reads the contents of a bookmark folder (works like a folder)?
NOTE: Before anyone says anything, I already know that you can create a folder on the bookmarks toolbar.

You can drag a bookmark folder (like, 'Last 7 days') from the Bookmarks Sidebar onto the Bookmarks Toolbar (at least in SeaMonkey).
Does that work in FF?
Does that work in FF?
Fire 750, bring back 250.

I don't think that can be done. You have to be in "Customize" mode to make changes and the sidebar isn't showing.therube wrote:You can drag a bookmark folder (like, 'Last 7 days') from the Bookmarks Sidebar onto the Bookmarks Toolbar (at least in SeaMonkey).

You can, if you know how to make add-ons. You can modify this existing one and just change the folder it looks for:cxmacleod wrote:2) Is it possible to create a button on the navigate bar (or menu bar) that reads the contents of a bookmark folder (works like a folder)?

I don't know how to make an add-on and I don't want a single button that has everything from the bookmarks bar.Gingerbread Man wrote:You can, if you know how to make add-ons. Still, I'll play with it and see what it looks like. Thanks...

Re: Is it possible?...
The add-on has a flaw. It only shows links that are in subfolders of the original folder. If a folder only has links (no subfolders), it won't show the links. Also, it doesn't show icons, so it's a bit confusing trying to figure links from folders.Gingerbread Man wrote:You can, if you know how to make add-ons. However, it does show that it can be done, so there's that.
Thanks...

I'm a bit confused about what is actually going on, but it does look to work.Does that work in FF?
Set the Bookmarks Toolbar to be visible. You have to be in "Customize" mode to make changes and the sidebar isn't showing.
Open the Sidebar.
Drag.
Customize is not needed.
Fire 750, bring back 250.

Re: Is it possible?...
The add-on below sort of solves my second question. By default, it reads the bookmark toolbar folder, but it can be changed.

I would still like to know if it is possible to combine the menu bar and the navigation bar into a single toolbar?

if the item is drag and drop-able into the menu bar - yes. if not, dont try to pursue this thought.

There are other ways besides drag and drop.Brummelchen wrote:if the item is drag and drop-able into the menu bar - yes. if not, dont try to pursue this thought.
And, don't presume to think that you can tell others what what they can-or-cannot pursue.

Re: Is it possible?...
My sidebar and bookmark toolbar are identical. They're just 2 views of the same thing. I often drag a bookmark from one to the other if the bookmark is in the wrong folder.
