Duck Duck Go - Be Gone

I'm trying to rid myself of Duck Duck Go.
I visited Add-Ons and Extension in FF and first clicked remove, then uninstall and it appear nowhere
But, at the FF empty url if I type in gmail to reach the Gmail sign in page out of nowhere Duck Duck Go appears and takes me to its results page,

Is there any way to finally rid myself of Duck Duck Go forever?

I'm on Windows 7.

Go to firefox options, the search tab and choose your preferred default search engine. While there you can also remove some search engines from the list below of "one-click search engines" if you choose.
