How can I have the cursor automatically focused onto the "Search the Web" bar in new tabs, in Firefox 57? This box appears in the middle of the page of new tabs.

Right now, when I open a new tab, the address bar is in focus instead. I have to hit Tab three times to focus on the search box instead.

Check out the add-on NEW TAB OVERRIDE. If you use a custom url (for example https://www.google.com/), it gives you the option to set the focus to the web page instead of the address bar.

Thanks, I've tried that with Google, but the built-in Firefox new tab page still loads much faster than Google, so I'd prefer using that if possible.
