How to specify allowed Cookies? Pattern with wildcards?

Post by pstover »

Assume I want to allow all cookies for the domain mozillazine.org

When I go now to Options-->Privacy--->History--->Accept cookies from site---->Exceptions
I have to specify a cookie pattern.

Unfortunately as far as I can see I have to specify all types individually:

http://mozillazine.org
https://mozillazine.org
http://www.mozillazine.org
https://www.mozillazine.org
http://forums.mozillazine.org
https://forums.mozillazine.org

since a domain with wildcards like in
http*://*.mozillazine.org
is not working.

Is there really no other way of cookie definition in Exceptions?

For Mozillazine you should only have to input : http://www.mozillazine.org/ and check whether to allow, allow for session or block.
But for the record you do not have to allow cookies for Mozillazine.
If you visit a site, any site you can open the "Show Cookies" and copy the url of the ones to keep to a text file and then place them in "Exceptions."
If the wild card doesn't work it's a good bet it's a security issue.
Doesn't matter what you say, it's wrong for a toaster to walk around the house and talk to you

Per older posts, these two should be sufficient (no "dots", no "stars", no "www", but http & https separately listed).
If I block:

http://yahoo.com
https://yahoo.com

Then visit:

http://www.yahoo.com
http://search.yahoo.com

No yahoo cookies end up on my end; not yahoo.com, not search.yahoo.com.

So again: I have to enter 2 entries:
One for "http" and a second for "https" ?

There is no way to merge the two entries into one?
