I am having trouble with a web site login routine. I enter my username and password, but it just ignores me. Using a different browser, I found that at that point one of those "are you a human" challenges comes up; but I am not getting that in Firefox. So that seems to be the roadblock.
I temporarily disabled Cookie Autodelete and told NoScript to temporarily allow all; no joy. Privacy Badger does not object to anything at that page. Those are the only add-ons I am using. I told Firefox to allow 3rd party cookies and pop-ups, still no luck.
The most "helpful" suggestion from the site's tech support was to use Google Chrome.
Any suggestions as to the cause of the problem? Or what else I might try?
I am using Firefox 58.0.2 on a Mac running El Capitan 10.11.6.

Have you tried starting Firefox in Mozilla Safe Mode? http://kb.mozillazine.org/Safe_mode
If no improvement using Safe Mode, do you have the same problem if you create a new profile and test it with no extensions or non-default themes installed?

Thanks. I tried safe mode and it worked. No challenge. So I tried it from my usual profile and it worked with no challenge. So maybe the challenge, which is what caused the problem, was a one time thing for a new user. Would have been nice if the tech guy mentioned that. I'd have noticed it sooner if I was insane.DanRaisch wrote:Have you tried starting Firefox in Mozilla Safe Mode? http://kb.mozillazine.org/Safe_mode

Hmm. There's another site that has been giving me trouble. So I guess I will try safe mode there.
Let's say safe mode works to solve a problem. What would the next step be? Other than the things I tried?

I'd say create a new profile and add the extensions you want to use to that new environment, one at a time, testing after each installation.

Noted.
Turns out that the problem at the other site was that they changed it so my bookmark no longer worked, even though it looked like it should be working.
