Firefox Browser will not close. [Mac.]

I use a MacBook Pro OS X EI Captain 10.11.6 and use Firefox Browser 59.0.1 ( 64 - bit) When ever I attempt to close the browser is hangs and I need to force quit it. Any ideas where to start with resolving this issue. Safari browser does not do this and works fine, but I like the overall feel and features of Firefox and have been using it for a few years now. Thanks for any ideas or help with troubleshooting this annoying issue.

So I ran safe mode and it is closing not problem at all. So far it is closing normally after going out of Safe Mode so thats good. Will see what happens over time and if it acts up again then I have a way to reset it. Thanks for your help.

Has stop responding again when trying to close, will check out 2nd link. May have to completely uninstall and go back to Safari.
