FF automatically reverts to v. 56

I'm trying to install FF v. 54, but every time I do, FF installs v. 56 as soon as I close the browser and reopen it. How can I prevent FF from automatically reverting to v. 56?

Why do you want to revert to 54? That info might help us understand what is going on.
