After all the recent changes with Firefox browser I can no longer use Firefox to run my construct 2 game building previews, the sound is now dead in the 64 browser released, not to mention the dropping of Java support. I believe the sound issue is not present in my 32 bit system and it took a while to figure out why both systems don't play audio, the game engine requirements for the audio are correct. So my question is can I roll back the version of Firefox to one that does not break the audio in construct 2, a 64 bit version of course. I don't particularly like chrome but it does run previews well as it always did.
Thanks

Re: question on firefox 64 bit
Have you tried starting Firefox in Mozilla Safe Mode? http://kb.mozillazine.org/Safe_mode
If no improvement using Safe Mode, do you have the same problem if you create a new profile and test it with no extensions or non-default themes installed?

Re: question on firefox 64 bit
64-bit for Windows or Win64 you mean as there is 64-bit Firefox for Mac OSX and Linux.materene wrote:...the sound is now dead in the 64 browser released, not to mention the dropping of Java support.
The vulnerable NPAPI Java Plugin from Oracle has not really been supported by web browsers for a while now. Chrome, Chromium, and Opera dropped NPAPI Plugins support (which includes Java) back in Sept 2015. Only IE and the legacy Firefox 52 ESR (will be EOL of Sept 5) still allows the Java Plugin to run. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/npapi-plugins
Even then for Windows users you needed the 32-bit Firefox as the Win64 Firefox only allowed the Flash Player and Silverlight Plugins to run since 43.0 though first Win64 Firefox Release was 42.0.
Firefox Releases since 52.0 Release only allows the Flash Player Plugin from Adobe to run and even then it will be under increasing restrictions in future. https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/doc ... ns/Roadmap
Note the Java Plugin from Oracle and the JavaScript in Firefox are two separate things as JavaScript was originally going to be called LiveScript. http://kb.mozillazine.org/JavaScript_is_not_Java
