I have been running FF55 and want to change to the new Quantum FF60 and want to transfer my profile.
Are the Bookmarks and Passwords compatible?
Are the folders the same?
What is the best way to do it?
thanks in advance.

Re: Bookmarks, Password from FF55 to FF60
Well a problem I'm running into is that I run a "portable" version of FF.
Running the Firefox Profile Manager is a problem.
So run: firefox -p doesn't work.
I tried navigating to it and running:
"C:\Users\Documents\Installed Apps\Firefox Portable 54\FirefoxPortable.exe -p"
and
"C:\Users\Documents\Installed Apps\Firefox Portable 54\FirefoxPortable.exe -p
Neither worked.

Try asking in the Firefox Portable support forum. Using the Profile Manager isn't possible with Firefox Portable, the Profile is in the program files folderset not in AppData as with the official version of Firefox.

As Rudyard Kipling said in "The Ballad of East and West" back in 1892.
"Oh, East is East, and West is West, and never the twain shall meet."

A mind is a terrible thing to waste. Mine has wandered off and I'm out looking for it.

The profile manager does not work with Firefox Portable or Firefox portable profiles. You could re-ask your question on the Firefox Portable forums.
Anyway, you can upgrade a Firefox portable version.
First, close all Firefox windows, wait one full minute. Copy your whole Firefox Portable folder to a backup.
Then, I think you have to run Firefox Portable as administrator to get it to update. Right click on it to do that. Then go to help -> about and tell it to check for updates. It may update step-wise, so it might not go to 60.0.2 all in one step.
Brummelchan has a point, there could potentially be some issues with new Firefox compared to old. I would try it and see, it is easy to fix if there are problems. Anyway, if you want to either fix or prevent problems, a "firefox refresh" will trash most of the stuff that would give you trouble and should keep your bookmarks and passwords. And since you made a backup as above you should be able to recover if you lose anything - https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/re ... d-settings

Re: Bookmarks, Password from FF55 to FF60
Thanks for replying allande & the-edmeister.
I copied my entire folder and updated like you suggested allande.
Took 2 or 3 times but it finally finished.
Seems okay so far.
Bookmarks are fine at least.
thanks again for all help!
