Still having memory issues?

Post by opus312 »

Thinking about switching back to FF from Pale Moon, but it looks like memory might still be an issue. Currently have 3 FF tabs open using 2G of memory. No videos involved. Is memory usage still considered a problem?

Nope. What version of Firefox are you using now?
Are you using the same profile with that installation of Firefox as you did with Palemoon?
Have you tried starting Firefox in Mozilla Safe Mode? http://kb.mozillazine.org/Safe_mode
If no improvement using Safe Mode, do you have the same problem if you create a new profile and test it with no extensions or non-default themes installed?

Don't we all have memory issues at our age? ;-)

Using FF 61.0.1

Seems to have the old issue of not giving back memory when tabs are closed. At the moment, there's one tab open and TM is showing 1650mb memory usage, along with 7 FF components.

And what does PM do after running a browser session in the same mode, opening & closing the same sites, performing the same actions, using the same extensions... ?
(Which obviously you cannot duplicate exactly, but possibly close enough to perhaps give you something to compare against.)
Fire 750, bring back 250.
