[QUANTUM:] Saving loaded pages directly from the RAM?

Post by fsckDsk »

Apparently, Firefox Quantum does save pages by re-downloading them instead of legacy versions, that save them directly from RAM, which is, in my way, the superior way of saving pages for the following reasons:

* Bottomless AJAX pages can be saved in one capture.
* Save pages after broken Internet connection (did not happen to us for a long time, but let's say it does)
* Pages with javascript elements and filled text boxed will be saved with those boxes filled.

I saved a long bottomless page after scrolling for 20 minutes, just to realize today, that nothing has been saved.

Can anyone explain this to me? Whose idea was making Firefox save pages like Google Chrome?
How to save pages directly from the RAM?

Does PQ (pre-Quantum ;-) save as you want?

(I generally hate bottomless pages, because once you go back to the page, you've generally lost your reference location.)
Fire 750, bring back 250.

I hate bottomless pages even more when the javascript changes the url in the urlbar, because once you go back to the page, you lost the original article.

Yes, it does.

Why does Quantum fail to save as I want?

I also despise bottomless pages.

RAM saving

Another note:
Page saving via RAM does also not work when offline mode is enabled.
