In an effort to create a work environment that is More Secure and Keep Data accuracy in GNSS-impaired surroundings, Laser Technology Inc., Eos Positioning Systems and Esri collaborated on the creation of the world's first laser counter mapping solution.

CENTENNIAL, Colo., Sept. 10, 2018 Three of North America's Leading technology companies have partnered to create the world's first laser counter mapping solution, one that improves discipline crews can capture information in surroundings that were GNSS-impaired and in hard-to-reach resources.

Laser Technology Inc. (LTI), in partnership with Eos Positioning Esri and systems, collaborated on creation and the development of the very first laser counter solution in the Collector for ArcGIS workflow. When employing an LTI laser rangefinder and an Eos Arrow Series(TM) GPS/GNSS receiver using Esri Collector for ArcGIS, a field employee can easily take, capture, and discuss high-accuracy 3D location data that is streamed into ArcGIS Online in real time.

Field crews previously challenged with catching accurate 3D Locations for resources would rely with a software workflow, which demanded a meshing-together of their data back at the office upon a station. These days, the integration of these 3 technologies creates a total-station-like solution that enables field mapping crews to capture 3D areas of assets and in surroundings that are GNSS-impaired while decreasing safety obligations.

The result is a laser offset mapping tool that Means field crews never have to leave the Collector/AGOL surroundings don't have to place themselves negotiating trenches dangerous roadways, woods and canopies and never sacrifice accuracy, making precision mapping at a safer, more efficient workspace.

"By blending the high-accuracy of this Eos Arrow Series(TM) GNSS receivers and the laser capabilities of LTI, we could enable field crews to catch highly accurate XYZ coordinates from a safe space," said LTI Senior Product Manager Derrick Reish. "This removes the need for physically occupying every stage. Additionally, it offers more accurate location data, with cheaper cellular asset-management workflows."

The collaboration comes amid rising demand for flexible, Accurate solutions that can perform in the most untenable locations. The first-of-its-kind technology integration, which provides users the freedom to integrate their laser of choice and also supplies various offset-mapping approaches, delivers the professional mapping community an available tool it may trust.
"Eos is extremely grateful to be a part of the initial Launch in high-accuracy asset location data with LTI's laser rangefinders and Esri's Collector mobile program," said Eos CTO Jean-Yves Lauture. "Enabling this type of accuracy means even the very budget-conscious field crews will be able to get into the location of the hard-to-reach assets"

"Esri is extremely pleased that Collector can now encourage The capture of high-accuracy asset locations from afar, leveraging our distinctive partnership with Eos and LTI," explained Esri Product Manager Jeff Shaner. "This really is a game-changer for asset management"

For LTI, this solution highlights yet Decades-long assignment improve workplace safety and to innovate its laser technology to field data collection and mapping professionals.

"With Eos the world's leading producer of high-accuracy GNSS receivers, Esri the international market leader in GIS applications, also LTI the major manufacturer of professional-grade laser rangefinders, it was a matter of time before that technology trifecta delivered something truly disruptive," said Eric Miller, president of LTI. "We are extremely proud of the partnership and this modern solution to the safest, most precise asset-management workflows."
