Set number of "bookmarkbackups" to 3? How to restore old bm?

Post by pstover »

As I found out Firefox creates automatically bookmark backups every day for the last 14 days in subfolder

profile\bookmarksbackups\

How can I decrease the number to 3 (=only the last 3 days)?

How can I tell Firefox to forget the current bookmark and restore the bookmarks from the mentioned bookmarkbackup from 3 days before?

See what the number in about:config is for browser.bookmarks.max_backups 15 appears to be the default.
Doesn't matter what you say, it's wrong for a toaster to walk around the house and talk to you

Check the pref; > "browser.bookmarks.max_backups"
in "about:config"
The default is 15, I believe, but Firefox saves your Bookmarks each time it closes......does it not?
Cannot assist with your 2nd Q?
Sounds like you need a Session Manager.

IMO, only 3 backups may not be enough - especially when a user has to ask how to change the number of backups being saved AND asks how to "restore" a backup. Clear evidence of a user who lacks basic knowledge on the subject of bookmarkbackups.

Sorry, no slight intended, just 16 years of experience contributing to Firefox support and the insights gained over that time.
