Extension icon not showing

Firefox used to be my default browser but I stopped using it a few years ago. I would like to move back to Firefox from Chrome but I'm having trouble with adding new extensions. I added an extension this morning but the icon does not appear to the right of the address bar where my other extensions are showing. I went to my Add-Ons page and the new extension shows that it's enabled. I looked in the Customize Box but it's not there. Suggestions would be appreciated.
