Clear YouTube cache?

Post by MozillaMonkey »

I am running Firefox.
I go to YouTube but don't log in.
It shows/suggests a bunch of videos at the bottom of the screen related to ones I have watched.

How can I flush this cache so that no videos are suggested based on my previous watching history?

Thanks!

OK thanks that did the trick!

So my next question would be, how do I stop YouTube from tracking me in the first place,
(if I don't log in)?

It doesn't seem practical to clear the cache manually each time I leave the site.

I'm using uBlock Origin which I thought would block such things.

My guess is to not accept cookies from YouTube. While at the site, click Tools -> Page Info -> Permissions and block Cookies for YouTube and possibly Store Data in Persistent Storage as well.

Is Maintain Offline Storage the same as "Store Data in Persistent Storage"?
Because I don't see "Store Data in Persistent Storage" in my FF.

You can let the cookies expire when you lclose Firefox to make them session cookies instead of using "Clear history when Firefox closes" to clear the cookies.

Options/Preferences -> Privacy & Security<br>Firefox will: "Use custom settings for history" -> Cookies: Keep until: "I close Firefox"
You can create a Cookie "Allow" exception to keep specific cookies like cookies for a website to remember you.
