[SOLVED] Firefox screws up my ActiveBoard forum
Hello everyone, I own an ActiveBoard Forum (very similar to yours) and i have a lot of issues with Firefox . I have version 62 of FF on my PC. The problems started after v.59-60 (hard to say exactly) . All the emotes (like here) are broken all over the board, hyperlinks don't work, weird blue background around the header (we have a totally different theme) just to name some.
I wish you guys could remotely take over my computer and see with your own eyes.
Are there any recommendations you can give to improve the Firefox? I have Windows 7.
Again it screwed up my Board after version 60 was installed.
Here is my system: 6 GB RAM, 64bit OS
P.S. What I did so far: I disabled my extensions , one at a time, to see if any of them may interfere. It did not make any difference:did not make any affect.
Can you please help? I like Firefox, it has been my default browser like forever. But its very frustrating to see how the forum is screwed up. I have no idea what else to do.

URL?
Try Safe Mode.
If that doesn't help, as a test, create a new, clean Profile & see what that does.

Fire 750, bring back 250.

I ran FF in SafeMode and it was OK. However the weird blue background stayed on for about 10 seconds, and only then turned into the correct color theme.
How come disabling add-ons one by one did not do anything??? I am confused.

Extensions ARE disabled... That is the main goal of Safe Mode. But my question remains when I try to identify which extension is a "troublemaker" I was not able to. Disabling them one at a time did not make any difference on forum. None.RobertJ wrote:.

What about a URL??? I don't follow , I am sorry.. Should I post URL of my Forum, or what???
I wish I could attach a screenshot but there is no such an option here on forum.

Yes, URL of a page demonstrating the problem. Pictures are not as useful as a live page that can be poked and prodded.MomAries wrote: What about a URL??? I don't follow , I am sorry.. Should I post URL of my Forum, or what???

Well, this is a private forum. I can give you a URL but you will not be able to get in: have to register.jscher2000 wrote:Yes, URL of a page demonstrating the problem. I will send a URL to this forum's moderator.
But why is it hard to visualize this very forum where we are now with a wrong color scheme background (say it turned all pink) and all the emotes are broken (blank squares in their places).
Many thanks to all the folks who help me with my problems.

Solution.
Go the the URL field and click on the lock icon at the left of the field. You will see in the small window that opens the option to disable content blocking on the site. Click on the button and the site will appear normal.

The issue with that site is mixed content including trackers being served from a https site. There is a good explanation here
Firefox 63 with improved content blocking
Not only does the site mix content but it also contains over 45 HTML coding errors.

Wow.. you are genious, RobertJ. Problem solved. Seriously. Keeping fingers crossed (superstitious LOL). Thanks a bunch. I am so glad I posted my problem . I am hoping though that the hyperlinks will work too (they are non-functional either).RobertJ wrote:.

I am curious though WHY I did not have to turn the Protection off when I had FF v. 59-60 installed???

Re: Firefox screws up my ActiveBoard forum
I saw the article... It was probably a good idea for some folks but for some of us on board it has been a huge disappointment. Does not really seem "improved" for us.RobertJ wrote:This is an "improved" feature in FF63MomAries wrote:I am curious though WHY I did not have to turn the Protection off when I had FF v. 59-60 installed???

Now thanks to you I am back to normal. I am going to notify my two moderators on how to solve the problem. And their tech. support must know too. LOL They could never figure out what the heck happened.
