sites not functioning properly

Post by fireshadow »

Since I updated to Firefox 63, I have noticed issues with sites. When I go to a YouTube video, the left-hand side would have suggested videos with "Show More" at the bottom. Previously, this would load additional videos to view, but now there is a spinning circle followed by nothing. There is another site (RawStory) where I log in using a Disqus account. Previously, I would click "Read Comments" and it would show me automatically logged in, but now I have to click Login and select Disqus each time I look at an article. (Warning: the site is ad-heavy.)

I tried restarting in SafeMode and I saw the same issues. My main extensions are NoScript and Adblock Plus.

I also tried using the Profile Manager to create a new profile. When I tried using that profile, Firefox showed that every website is not secure. I am not sure if this is a connected issue or an entirely different problem.

Let's take the cue of the new profile and figure out if you have a "man in the middle" and, if so, which one it is. The most common culprits are discussed in this article: https://support.mozilla.org/kb/error-co ... e-websites. Can you take that out of the equation and see whether it makes any difference in either/both profiles?

Firefox showed that every website is not secure.
could be a matter of your used antivirus with ssl inspection. disable!
https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/se ... or-message
log in using a Disqus account
could be a matter of used extension, not firefox, because firefox dont offer this feature.
I tried restarting in SafeMode and I saw the same issues
did you use the current profile with firefox 56 and earlier?
Then you should create a new profile and get of remnants of that time.

Well, with YouTube, the list of related videos is on the right and clicking Show More also shows a spinning circle and then nothing. But, it does the same thing in Chrome so I'm not sure it always loads more actually.
