[Solved] Unable to Connect to the Garmin Site
Firefox will not let me connect to the Garmin website (https://forums.garmin.com/)
If I cannot connect, how can I leave a message to Garmin to correct the problem like the Firefox dialog suggests???

Re: Unable to Connect to the Garmin Site
No problem accessing that site here. What is happening when you try to do so?
Does the same thing occur if you launch the application in Mozilla Safe Mode? http://kb.mozillazine.org/Safe_mode

Re: Unable to Connect to the Garmin Site
After I closed and reopened FF, I could go to the Garmin site. But before I posted my initial message I could not. I would get a message stating that FF (I think it was FF) would not let me connect. Something about the "s" in HTTPS required that the certificate be updated??? Can't really recall because my short-term memory keeps kicking in... In some cases I can add an exception, but not in this case. FF also states that due to this particular type of problem it will not let me connect.
I don't know why I could connect after restarted FF.

Re: Unable to Connect to the Garmin Site
@DanRaisch
So this morning I tried again to connect to the Garmin site and again I received this message:
Your connection is not secure
"The owner of forums.garmin.com has configured their website improperly. To protect your information from being stolen, Firefox has not connected to this website.
"This site uses HTTP Strict Transport Security (HSTS) to specify that Firefox may only connect to it securely. As a result, it is not possible to add an exception for this certificate."
To me the last sentence means that FF absolutely will not connect to the site. I hope this helps in resolving the problem.

Re: Unable to Connect to the Garmin Site
I can’t figure why you can’t connect to Garmin, I go to Garmin allot and have no issues whatsoever. There might be some other reason, that you’re unable to connect.skuddle wrote:@DanRaisch

Catch 22:
If I cannot connect to the Garmin site, how can I post a message letting them know that I cannot connect to the Garmin site......

Re: Unable to Connect to the Garmin Site
Do you have any other device that you could use for that purpose, a smartphone, tablet, library computer, etc?

No doubt the OP's suffering from NPRS or SMRS (New Profile Rejection Syndrome/Safe Mode Rejection Syndrome), lot of it going on around here lately....

@costark
If I go to your first link (https://support.garmin.com/en-us/) then a garmin site comes up.
If I go to your second link (https://my.garmin.com/mygarmin/customer... rtHome.htm) then I get a "...connection is not secure..." message, but I can click Advanced and then Add Exception and progress to the site.
If I go to your third link (https://forums.garmin.com) I get a "...connection is not secure..." message. However, in this case I can click Advanced but after that there is no Add exception button to click.
I have tried other means but get wildly varying displays, some regarding Garmin and others regarding some other stuff that I can't remember. Some kind of sales stuff associated with Garmin.
I'm not sure I want to get into the habit of creating a new profile everytime something unusual comes up with FF (I'm afraid of losing all my bookmarks).

Re: Unable to Connect to the Garmin Site
to create a new profile without losing anything go ->
about:profiles
create, delete, switch, make standard profile(s)
if you have doubt that garmins certificate(s) are not valid go ->
https://www.sslshopper.com/ssl-checker.html
eg
https://www.sslshopper.com/ssl-checker. ... garmin.com
below is the certificate chain you can check in firefox:
https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/fi ... rity-panel
btw is it only firefox or have other browsers same issue? if so check your cmos battery because wrong date/time causes this (current time not saved in cmos, reset to manufacturing date)

so if you find "cloudflaressl.com" and "COMODO ECC Domain Validation Secure Server CA 2" as valid certificates you can be sure that certificates are intercepted between server and your firefox.Security
