Thanks. I enabled studies and my add-ons are back after one restart. Thank you so much. Huh. I disabled studies and they are still working. Now I know what to do if they break again.

My version is a portable!
Browsers that don't have a Menu bar and don't place the tab bar below the content (where it's been for 25 years) are poorly designed. Period. Don't 'fix' something that isn't broke!

For older Firefox versions you can install the intermediate certificate manually, possibly via the Browser Console. https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/Too ... er_ConsoleThe hotfix has this code to install the certificate, only addCertFromBase64() needs an extra parameter. certDB.addCertFromBase64(intermediate, "", ""); - Code: Select all

Thank you dickvl.
I am using v56.0.2 32 bit and some of my add-ons are suddenly being disabled with a message they cannot be verified.
I can open the Browser Console but don't have a clue how to install the certificate or the meaning of:
"The hotfix has this code to install the certificate, only addCertFromBase64() needs an extra parameter. certDB.addCertFromBase64(intermediate, "", "");"
and how to use it.
Is there more detailed instructions for non FF tech savvy?
Thank you again!

Questions... So just how do you install that certificate with that code with the Browser Console (details)? Can you do it with older browsers? I was using 48.0.2, now using 45.9.0esr, but while the addons are now working with xpinstall.signatures.required set to false, they are still marked in the addons list with the "could not be verified" message. Will that certificate stop that message? And just where is that installed?

66.0.4 was canceled, and access to candidates prohibited. use XPI instead viewtopic.php?f=38&t=3049809and/or enable firefox studies. in settings (available since v64). older firefox builds have nuts, as usual, user decision. official source for the XPI file - Code: Select all

Not here it isn't, in the UK.
I've got Studies enabled and it says that the patch is installed. But still no add-ons.
It's been about 24 hours since Firefox decided it didn't want to allow me access to my password manager, without which I'm stuffed. Get your fingers out, Mozilla, or I'm off to some other browser and never coming back.

A simple temporary fix is to go in to "about:config" and change xpinstall.signatures.required to false (and then restart FF for completeness). Once Mozilla fix the problem properly you can change the setting back to true.

I can't make it work either, 66.0.3 Win64. I enabled studies 12-14 hours ago, but it hasn't activated. Still stuck under Active studies. A couple of hours ago I tried installing 66.0.4 build3, but no dice. I then tried the xpi Brummelchen posted, but that made no difference either.
It didn't help my frustrations that when I wanted to register, apparently the answer to "How many letters in Mozilla?" is 6!?!? No really, it's 7. It would be 6 if the question was "How many DIFFERENT letters in Mozilla?". Also, you really should get HTTPS support.

That hasn't helped, my plugins are still disabled. I can't use my (payware) Internet Download Manager because the integration plugin has been disabled. I can no longer see screenshots in forums either, all pictures are blank (fine in IE). Firefox is basically broken. I'm off to some other browser and never coming back.
After 15 years or more using Firefox I am now so fed up of this kind of stuff, I too am ditching it. I know this particular incident is an 'accident', but already, because of the changes that Mozilla keep making, I still have to use v56 - most of the plugins I have come to rely on won't work with later versions. And stuff is always being shifted around. Why on earth for example after so many years has the Home Page icon moved from the far right to the far left of the browser? After so long using FF, these things become second nature.. when they get moved, (especially when they are buried in a menu somewhere) hunting them down and 'relearning' where Mozilla have put stuff is really irritating. This glitch is the last straw for one who is not in the first flush of youth any longer and has limited patience with this kind of stuff! So, sorry: bye bye Firefox...

Doesn't work for me. Changed it. Rebooted. Still no addons. ](./images/smilies/eusa_wall.gif)
