Link tooltips getting stuck across tabs

Since last week, I've had an issue with Firefox where popup link tooltips will get stuck somewhere on the screen, and that text box will then be visible on all other tabs in the same exact position. Even if I minimize Firefox, the text box will still hover over the desktop. Even playing Youtube videos full-screen, that text box will hover over it. Then it will randomly just disappear at some point if I scroll through all my other tabs.

Here's an example - see the box of text there? It appears in every tab, stuck in exactly the same place in each tab. Even tabs from different websites.



What could possibly be causing this? It's driving me nuts. I'm on Firefox 68 64bit. I updated my add-ons, and I even installed the latest nvidia video driver just in case.

I even uninstalled firefox completely, deleting my profile. I then reinstalled it, adding my extensions back manually. So it's a brand new installation of Firefox.

And it still happens. I manually disabled all ad-ons, and it still happens. In safe mode, it doesn't seem to happen. I have no idea what to do.

Nobody has been experiencing this lately? I just updated to 68.0.1 and it still happens.

i did, but in 69beta. and its called the "title" tag. but it do not happen on all pages so i use now a script for those.
damn, when fishing for it - nothing. i cant reproduce it.

browser.launcherProcess.enabled;false

i had this "true" (default) and my UAC is off, this ofc has other side effects (drag&drop of url on desktop wont work), so i disabled it. launcher process ist not really important but there could be a relationchip because thats the only major change in settings the last days.

It looks like they have been trying to fix similar intermittent bugs for a while. Such as

Interesting. I read that link from bugzilla. Sounds like the same issue I'm dealing with only it's been happening to me very frequently lately for some reason. So then it will be fixed for v69?
