I have a couple of questions about the Firefox Home webpage (about:newtab):
1) Why does the page have a title of "New Tab" when it is now referred to as the Firefox Home Page ? ... obviously the page is "about:newtab" but in Options - Home it is referred to as "Firefox Home".
2) Why does the focus not automatically go to the web search (if present) ?

Re: Firefox Home web page questions
There are two URLs to open the Firefox Home page: about:home and about:newtab
Both have the same "New Tab" title.
You can see the actual URL in "Tools -> Page Info -> General"
See also the Inspector (right-click -> Inspect Element).

Re: Firefox Home web page questions
The logic of the "Open a New Tab" command places the cursor in the address bar regardless of what page is displayed. Apparently there isn't any code to specially handle about:newtab with a search box. Of course, then, people like me who want the cursor in the address bar 100% of the time would be unhappy and have to remove the box.leamphil wrote:2) Why does the focus not automatically go to the web search (if present) ?
