Mac: Now need two clicks to get link up?

I think this dovetails with upgrading to Mojave but who knows.... big annoyance.
In Mail, mostly, but I think other places. I used to click a link and the browser would open up on the page in one shot. How it takes two clicks. The first click just shows the blank homepage ( set to Google); then I have to go back and click again, and then the page comes up. Thanks MAC USER
Possibly set something else as default browser, then set Firefox as default again. Also at URL about:profiles make sure only one exists.
Does it make any difference whether Firefox is:
* Not running (Quit last session) * Running but with no visible windows * Running with at least one visible window Thanks kerft, can't do that as when click 2nd time problem goes away which make it impossible to test. Did not understand your second point.
Jschar, none of that matters, as for last 15 years this issue did not exist. MAC USER
Firefox has several information pages. Go to them as if it was a website, in address bar type about:profiles. You will see a list of your profiles and one will say "cannot be deleted" this is the one that is currently in use. Most people intend to only have one profile, but Firefox randomly will create other profiles under some conditions. If it does, it can affect behavior and how links are processed.
Point is, if you think you only have one, go to about:profiles and make sure only one is there. Thanks Kerft, that's a wild goose chase that has nothing to do with the problem, so I'll pass.

Ok tested with Safari and default and issue went away Hoping one other person knows what i'm taking about. Definitly FF as culprit.

Did the same happen with FF 67, 68?
(67 brought forth profilemania. And I seem to recall something along the lines of what you've mentioned. And there have been so many bugs since then...) Fire 750, bring back 250.
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.1; en-US; rv:1.9.1.19) Gecko/20110420 SeaMonkey/2.0.14 Pinball CopyURL+ FetchTextURL FlashGot NoScript I'm on 69 now. I have no idea, except started few weeks ago, super annoying.

Ok D will test safe mode for a few days....
MAC USER
D ok seems when test if safe mode problem is not there. Hard because FF constantly goes out of safe mode. Why is that?
That said, currently I have only four add on enabled which is good. Do I just disable them one at a time to test? Is that the key culprit, an add on? MAC USER
I disabled on add on and problem still persist, however, if I use safe mode issue goes away to stumped.

Did you check for issues caused by hardware acceleration in Firefox ?
