Is there any way to have Firefox open addresses like About:addons in an active tab, not blank?
Every once in a while (but rarely) they do, so maybe there's a way to do it?
Open About:addons, etc in working tab on reboot

Only the shortcut (or via Menu item) reacts that way.
If you open about:addons (typed into the URL bar) it opens in the current tab.
(IMHO, about:addons is [essentially] malicious, about:addons steals focus when existing about:addons window is open.
Others [incorrectly] took exception .)

Re: Open About:addons, etc in working tab on reboot
Sorry, I left out the key detail
I'm talking about when you launch the browser, and about:addons (or some other about: page) was the last current tab, it does not load, and must be manually closed.
I was wondering since there is a workaround for for Firefox extensions “restricted” from running on some sites (extensions.webextensions.restrictedDomains, privacy.resistFingerprinting.block_mozAddonManager) there might be something to be done about this annoyance.

Hmm, I never realized that. Since I don't know any better, I generally assume that when you see this type of lingering stuff, and it hasn't been "fixed", there must be a good reason, like all these other Quantum changes intended to exercise more control over browser manipulation.therube wrote:Only the shortcut (or via Menu item) reacts that way.

You're talking from Session Restore?I'm talking about when you launch the browser, and about:addons (or some other about: page) was the last current tab, it does not load, and must be manually closed.
Or if you set about:addons to be your Home Page, & set FF to start by loading your Home Page?
In either case, about:addons (about:plugins, about:about, ...) should be loading - correctly.
Restart in Safe Mode & see if it still fails.
