Nvidia GPU: webrender still off and no hw acceleration?

Post by phaolo »

Hello can you help me understand why on my PC webrender and hw acceleration are disabled by default for Firefox?

System info:
- FF v69.0 x64
- Win7 Pro x64
- i5 6600k
- Nvidia GTX 1070

In about:support I get:

Code: Select all

WEBRENDER_QUALIFIED
blacklisted by env: No qualified hardware
I tried to force them, even if I'm not too sure about the results in practice (the GPU seems still underutilized):

Code: Select all

WEBRENDER
available by user: Force enabled by pref

HW_COMPOSITING
force_enabled by user: Force-enabled by pref

ADVANCED_LAYERS
available by user: Enabled for Windows 7 via user-preference

Apparently, this is of no interest to anyone as your GPU seems to be so old that nobody still uses it.
I have the same problem with a GeForce GTX 550 Ti.
For nVidia GPUs, it is advisable to always have the very latest GPU in order to have a chance to get supported.
