(3 pages of negative vibes. Look up. Maybe you'll see the sun shining. :-).
Or, "how can you stop the world from shining" [Al Green], as the song that happens to be currently play, says.)

...besides saying go to post #9 Where is post #9
There was no mention of a post #9. What I said was "See my post of October 7, above." The date of each post is noted in the post and on October 7 I provided a link to "a definitive guide to doing the [not really] tedious [at all] new profile."

so it could be something specific to the Mac version of Firefox.
i found a posting from 2014 in the german forum, which occurred in Windows & firefox and the only solution was a new profile (or profile reset). in very old threads the cause was a logitech mouse driver and a pimped windows (xp). cheap solution(s) i would say.

Thanks guys, currently I"ve given up. Had no more energy, exasperated. I do have a Logitech mouse. I'm staying still with FF with the bug... Will circle back......

On other forums they are quick to recommend the one-click-fix of "refresh / reset" Firefox. In my opinion and that of most, it is too risky and destructive of your data, but it can be a one-click fix. Note, it removes all extensions and their data. Kevs, I have one final idea. Write a short text file, just a few words, and save it with a file name on your desktop. Then tell us how many clicks you need to open it.

I'm not participating in wild goose chases, speculations. If someone knows the issue and has solved it, without the bottomless draining new profile, let me know.

Appreciate concern.

Anyway, text file, not relevant, weblink issue.

Not a wild goose chase. I wanted to see if it's happening in your entire OS, rather than just the browser. Troubleshooting is often trial-and-error.

Thanks for asking, no only in FF in fact it's not even in other browsers like Safai, or Chrome. Happens no where else, it's a known Firefox bug/ issue.

, it's a known Firefox bug/ issue.
You should provide links to the reports that support that contention.

Probably all those old links previously posted... and are not valid at all due to their age.

I've re-read most of this thread and basically what I see is that 'we' seem to be getting the run-around from the OP...in a way. Creating a new profile and moving required files over from the problem profile to the new one is a simple task... and DOES NOT TAKE MUCH TIME.

I'm beginning to feel that the OP does not have enough PC related knowledge to feel comfortable in the creation of a new profile and moving those files but keeps posting UN-related stuff (if you know what I mean).... the OP needs to connect up with a friend who has that knowledge (Mac) and just get the job done!
As you can see she's (The CAT) always alert and on the prowl for Meoware !!

Seeing as the OP stated...

this thread is going nowhere, so it's getting locked.

To continue, just start a new thread...if/when necessary.

AND if ready to actually take the advice offered rather than complain about the time it might take to work through the diagnostics.
