New tab opening with custom URL

Hello:

I reinstalled FF because of clean upgrade to Win 10, v 1909, and now, I have lost the ability to open New Tab as www.google.com. I had it before. I have tried extensions, but while google shows up in one, when you enter search string and click "Search" icon, google disappears (author has not responded yet).

So, I think there is a way to edit UserChrome.css, but hours of searching the web has yielded nothing.

I tried your suggested extension, and it seems to work fine.

The extension that did not work for me was "Custom New Tab Page".
