I've got FF 73 on W10 and can use Ant Downloader to download many YouTube videos, albeit without being able to choose the highest resolution (e.g. 1080p). I wanted to download this animation
tinkercad.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/360000421768-cutting imported-STL-in-two

... but Ant doesn't recognize it. Can anyone here download that animation? What FF extension or 3rd P. application are you using? Can you pls. share the link to download either the extension or other software?

Thank you.

Hi Motivated/ETL.
If the above ^, does not work...then
try using the Video Download Helper extension.
You may have to get the Companion App as well.
Worked fine here.

Hi motivated/ETL,
Did you see what the MightyG & malliz posted?
They were able to D/L the .gif just by using the right click > Save Image as...
as was I.
I just posted the link to the extension, coz that's what I tried 1st.

Both ways work fine.

A gif file is basically a series of overlapped/joined image files and can be downloaded just like a single image. The smilies on the forum are an example

Hey mightyglad - I right clicked and it saved it as a 2,000kb .gif file but it just displays the 1st frame of the animation not the entire animation when I play it in VLC Media Player.

Thanks.

Did you read anything that Malliz wrote? a Gif is NOT a video file.

Hi motivated/ETL,
VLC will NOT play a .gif file.
If in doubt, open VLC & check the file types via the drop down of those said file types.

.gif is NOT in the list.
Try any free viewers from here...

The following two free programs will display animated gifs:

Faststone Image Viewer

IrfanView

Both can be used as portable programs if you so desire and can be got at PortableApps The only problem with using them as portables is that file associations don't get set in Windows (you would have to set that up manually if you so desire), whereas installing the fully installed versions would set file associations.
