Firefox bookmarks browsing very slow after sorting bookmark

On my windows 10 firefox was working all fine until yesterday when I thought of sorting all bookmarks (almost 9k).

Over 2k bookmarks were lying in Other bookmarks and rest all 7k were already sorted into their relative folders.

So after moving these 2k bookmarks into respective folders Other bookmarks and everything in bookmarks is now operating very slow.

But FF doesn't hang or no issues while surfing.

Its just that when I go int bookmarks its so slow that to click or browse it takes a good 15-20 seconds.

What can be done esp. now that all bookmark clutters is sorted and cleared?

Do you use Sync? Just wondering whether all those changes need to go out over the wire to your Firefox Account. Otherwise, it seems like a coincidence.

I dont use sync nor intend too.

Export your bookmarks to your desktop. Delete all current bookmarks from Firefox. Then import them back in.

It is possible that you have a problem with the places.sqlite database.

You can check for problems with places.sqlite and favicons.sqlite in the profile folder.
You can use "Verify Integrity" button on the "Help -> Troubleshooting Information" (about:support) page
If there are errors reported with "Verify Integrity", close and restart Firefox and retry.
