locbar trailing slash
Can I instruct Firefox to omit the trailing slash in URLs as they appear in the locbar?

I wonder the same thing. I also wonder about its sudden appearance, why is it necessary at all? We didn't need it in the past so what has 'changed'?
OS: Windows 10 Pro. x64
