My laptop (onboard graphics) screen resolution seems to be 1366 x 768 (recommended). There is no 1080p setting. I have YouTube tutorials videos set to High Resolution (cog wheel) and open the video in Theater (mode). But, the words in the video are so indiscernible. I’ve shared screen shots of what I see with others and they too, can’t read the words. It’s critical when you’re learning new software via YT videos that you see what the tutorial creator is doing on screen but it’s not visible on my PC running Windows 10.

Here's an example - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-gT-srcpC6w&t=335s

I have good vision as do the people who viewed my screenshots.

I’d appreciate your creative suggestions re: what I can change settings-wise or otherwise to see the words in the tutorials. Thank you!

Have you tested with a newer version of Firefox than 75? The current release version is 82.0.1.
Does the same thing happen if you launch the application in Mozilla Safe Mode? http://kb.mozillazine.org/Safe_mode
Have you tested with any other browser?

I think the best resolution you could use is 720p (not 1080p).

If you check my test page here

https://www.jeffersonscher.com/res/resolution.php

what is your reported window.devicePixelRatio ?

When the devicePixelRatio is anything other than 1, Firefox has to stretch or otherwise interpolate pixels, which might degrade clarity. On the test page, you can use zoom (hold Ctrl tap - ) to get this down to 1 (keep track of how many taps are required). Try that same reduction in zoom on YouTube and see whether the clarity improves.

So you want to run videos at 1920 x 1080p (1080p) down-scaled to you 1366 x 768 display when 1280 x 720p (720p) would be better?
