Firefox update
Can you please tell me the last version of Firefox that included 'never check for updates'?

See tanstaafl's response to your question about Thunderbird, substituting "Firefox" each time Thunderbird is referenced. http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic ... #p14882091

Re: Firefox update
The problem is, I am not comfortable going into regedit and changing the registry. Is there no better way to do this? I have looked for myself, and did find a more user friendly way to do it, but it didn't work, and yes, I did it right.

Re: Firefox update
Try the following:
In Firefox, enter about:config into the location bar. (If you get a warning message, accept the "risk" and proceed) Enter app.update.service.enabled into the search field. When that setting appears, if it is current shown as "true", double click on it to change it to false.

After doing the above, stay away from Help->About Firefox as that will trigger the browser to look for and install any update available. Instead, use Help->Troubleshooting information to find what version is installed along with other useful information.
