You Tube Video downloading.

Hi,

I've been using YouTube-DLG (32 bit) to download YT videos for watching for educational purposes.

But, it won't work for this video - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2J1lpgO ... ylUOaQSWWw

I've tried 5 times and it says Que and default and usually I press the black Start button and displays a progress of % until done. Now it says Finished but it shows 0% downloaded. I've closed it and opened it many times.

I used to use VLC Media Player but hat now just downloads the audio to a video not the video.

Is there a newer edition to YouTube DLG I should use? Can you pls share the link for that download?

Other applications you use to download YT videos?

I use the youtube-dl.exe executable. It works great.

I have also been using the youtub-GUI as I posted but now it won't work.

I need troubleshooting help of why it won't work anymore. Are there patches to it? Update? Changes?

Just tried today with both Ant Downloade and youtube-GUI

I play back the Ant Downloader version in VLC and I hear the downloaded video but see no video for the whole clip.

In youtube-GUI I get the down loader screen I copy/paste the YT url into the top screen (like always) and then press Add and it adds it to the bottom screen. I then press Start and it says PRe-Processing (never displayed that before) and then says finished Download Complete but there is 0% downloaded and there is no file on my hard drive for it.

The settings are default anbd the status says Queued. I thern press Start and I never see that % goign fcorm 0% tp 100% like I used to.

I clicked your link and it took me to the extension but I haven't added a FF extension in years. I see a green Folder in the upper left and I clicked that but nothing happens. How do I "install" this FF extension to my FF version 77 for Windows 10?

This is a new development in the last week or so. Anyone ever use this YT downloader?

Did you happen to see the "Download File" link just underneath the green button?
Mouse over it to reveal the xxxxxxxxxxxxxx.xpi file.

&...The extension works fine.
Places a big green button under the YT video.
Please check the posted screen shots for how it's set up.

If you paste only the link to the one video itself, then your downloader will download it.

I don't know anything about the Ant Downloader.

For the Easy Youtube Video Downloader Express extension at
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefo ... -download/
just click the Add to Firefox button to install it in Firefox.

Then, on YouTube video pages, a green "Download As" button will appear that will enable you to download the video in various versions.

Go there & check the screen shots for exactly where the D/L button appears.
It's below the YT videos slightly to the right hand side.

The "Download File" link is a text link under the green button.

I can't really help much because I've already got the extension installed, hence the D/L page changes it's options.

PLUS....Why the reference to Chrome..&..Library?

I cannot say why you are not receiving any notifications.
Must be a glitch with the forum soft ware or ?

OK. I can't post on this forum a screenshot of what I see once I reach the link. When I click Diane's link I reach the page for that Add-On. In the upper left there is a green file folder. That's the ONLY green I see on the entire page in FF (77). Perhaps other see a green box on FF 87 that's not on 77? At this point there is no path to adding it to my FF browser. I can click on the "hamburger" icon (3 horizontal lines) and look at the FF Menu. I don't see any "ADD this Add On Here". Is there a way YOU can post graphics so I can see step by step how this is supped to work? In the past, I could click on and Add-On and drag it to the4 FF Toolbar. I tried that but nothing drags. Thanks.
