Here's a quick follow up of a copy and paste to plain text of what I see on Diane's linked page.

There is no green button to Download or install.

In fact, when I press Ctrl + F to search the while page for the word Download that word only appears in describing what this Add-on is designed to do, it doesn't download the Add-on or install it or activate - it's just a description.

Which FF version are you all using? Is it the latest 87? Can this Add-On be used with FF 77?

Thanks.

On the Easy Youtube Video Downloader Express page, there's a BLUE "Add to Firefox" button under the title and next to the description of the addon. Just click on that and it should install in Firefox. Note that these are Firefox extensions, not extensions for Chrome or anything else.

Hi MV,
I see that you've posted "REMOVE" in the list.
This means that you've already got it D/L'd & installed.
(That's what I see.)

Try going to YT & loading any video & see if you get the green button at the bottom of the video.

The extension is good for all Firefox versions from v40 ? (Not sure about that) up to the latest.

Please look at the screen shots on the D/L page.

Diane... Do you get a progress bar to know when it's finished downloading? With Ant you see a progress bar which travels acorss the page and displays it's downloaded 30%, 64% then 100% and then download is completed. How do you know when the YT video has completed downloading? How do you know where on your hard drive it has downloaded to?

Thanks.

Hi MV,
If you want verification of the D/L progress then try this extension...
> https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefo ... statusbar/

Puts a nice progress bar at the bottom of the screen.
Read the "Features" section & check all the screen shots for ALL the options..

It also gives you a nice audio tone "Ding" when finished.

I click the GREEN button under the video and title to download the video
I select from the GREEN button download dropdown what version I want
A window (on my computer) opens up to allow me to select where to save the video
A yellow blotch appears on the download arrow in Firefox
I then go to wherever I saved the video.

See also Limpet's comment above re an extension showing the download progress.

Hi Diane,

Now I see the Green Download button which appears below the title.

But, I don't see where the Yellow blotch appears??

It did download the YT video but I just don't know how long I need to wait to know it's finished downloading.

Ant Downloader has a progress bar that this seems to lack so I'm trying to track downloads.

Thank you very much fro all your kind help.

OK, I guess I spoke too soon. I visited a YT page. I click that green Download button and it has a drop down menu for formats. I chose HD 1080P but it never asks me WHERE I'd like to download to. I have FF set up to to ask me where I'd like to download a file to and then I can Browse. I never get that prompt window with this downloader. Is there some setting I need to adjust in FF to make this downloader prompt me?

You'll have to look at how you have your computer, and Firefox, set up.

In the meantime, try:
about:preferences#general
Save files to
Browse…
Always ask you where to save files

[Added] With those settings, when I go to save a video, a window opens to prompt as to where to save it. If it doesn't do that on your machine, not sure what else to suggest.

I use a small free program called Clip Grab, v. 3.9.6. Ask where I want to save it, took about 1 minute to download, saved in 1060 HD. Freeware plays great.

Hi Bob,

ClipGrab sounds interesting.

Would you psl share the link to the "official" 64-bit Windows 10 version?

So, once you press Play on YouTube how do you then activate ClipGrab?

Do you click on it on your FF toolbar?

Thank you!

MV,
If I may ask...
Why do you want another YT D/Loader?

Hi Diane,

in my FF 77 I select Tools>Options and cursor down as I have always and it asks you where to save files is already checked and has been that way for years. In fact, outside of YT videos FF always asks me when I wan to download anything. It's YT that's become difficult. I see that green Download button on a YT page and I press it but seemingly nothing happens. I search my whole hard drive for anything downloaded today (after pressing Download) but both File Explorer and Agent Ransack find nothing.

I ask re:L that ClipGrab because this Easy YT Down loader is not working. Ant Downloader no longer works on FF and the YouTube- GIU which worked for over a year no longer works.

I need a YT which works and so far none do.

Thanks.
