Browsing history too young, i need nothing removed (FF 93.0)

Post by postcd »

In FF 93.0 i am unsure if i have cleared the history (i would do it only in attempt to fix FF slowness), but oldest entry seems to be only 4.8 months back, i doubt i have cleared it around that date.

Question: how to make sure FF not clear browsing history and allow URL bar suggestions from unlimited history?

Here is relevant reading that i have found but i want confirmation or if there is a GUI way

Regarding "places.history.expiration" only entry found is: "places.history.expiration.transient_current_max_pages". There is a link to explanation of it yet it goes to a 404 mozilla page.

So far in attempt to set never deleting history i have just tried to open about:config page, search for "places.history.expiration.max_pages" set it to maximum value that seems to be 2147483647 (i am unsure if 0 or -1 can do something or if this config. variable does something).

If i set "Remember history" at about:preferences#privacy then FF should not cheat user by deleting it.

Being in the code & working & having the intended affect are totally different.
The second link, I'd think to be too dated to be relevant.

Whether it works or not, I don't know.

There used to be (or maybe still is ?) an extension. Did you check AMO?

(Again not sure, but) I don't believe what FF does not is solely date driven.

In my HistoryCleaner addon it let me type 1,100,000 days til Delete - BUT I have no idea IF it behaves that way.
