When I open webpages of certain websites then the first image is always shown as empty frame/overlay.
Have a look at the following sample webpage of a german news magazine:
https://www.welt.de/sport/article235194 ... rennt.html
and the corresponding snapshot as it appears here in my browser:
This problem occurs since the last Firefox version but not in older FF versions and not in Chrome.
So whats wrong?
Maybe a certain WebExtension or security option is reponsible

No such problem when viewed on my system. Does the same thing happen if you launch the application in Mozilla Trouble Shooting Mode? https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/di ... shoot-mode

Try temporarily disabling your antivirus software.
No problems for me in Chrome and Firefox.

Test in a new, clean Profile.
Fire 750, bring back 250.

Re: Why is embedded image always shown empty (in newest FF)?
I found the reason:
I enabled "Enhanced Tracking protection" for all windows (and all sites) in the past.
When I disable ETP for this site everything is shown.
This reason was very tricky to find

I can't reproduce that. I tried...
* Enhanced Tracking Protection > Strict
* Enhanced Tracking Protection > Custom > All Checked, All Cookies, All Windows
I cleared all history and restarted browser between tests.
Here is the image I see.
