I am unable to disable Containers using:
about:config
"privacy.userContext.enabled", false
After a restart, "perf.js" sometimes has "privacy.userContext.enabled", true
I don't know if this rates as a bug as it only affects one of our machines. All are running FF 95.0.2(64 bit), WIN 10 (21H2)
I have tried reinstalling from a new download after uninstalling but there was no change. I tried using a "user.js" file but this failed. This might have been because I used the wrong folder. I used the same folder as "perf.js". About:config seems to work OK as I can set "network.security.ports.banned.override" without any issues.
Please move this. if this forum is not appropriate.

Re: Cannot Disable Containers in Firefox 95
I see the same.
But... come to think of it, I do have "Firefox Multi-Account Containers" (extension) installed.
If I disable the extension, then the Pref sticks .

Yes, extensions like Multi-Account Containers and Facebook Container that use containers enable containers by default and you can't disable it.
You should see this mentioned in "Settings -> General -> Tabs" where "Enable Container Tabs" is grayed.

I hadn't apprciated that the Facebook Container was causing it. All I wanted to do was get rid of the extra click when starting a new tab.
Thanks for putting me straight.

not to high jack thread--but Cookie Auto Delete in FF 95.02, will not stop container tabs even if you tell it to disable container tabs by taking the check mark out of the box to enable them, in the Auto Delete program.

In your profile, look for the container(s).json file.
I haven't tried this yet but look at the file with a simple text editor and turn the ones you don't want from true to false.
Keep some written notes just in case.

Doesn't matter what you say, it's wrong for a toaster to walk around the house and talk to you
