In addition to what TheVisitor said, you also seem to have something going on with Avast.
Do you also have Avast (in addition to Comodo)?
Disable both, then see if you don't shut down cleanly.

Yes I use both. Never had this issue before with FF...I might go back to version 100.0.2 if it's not fixed soon.

Re: FF 101.0 Problem
it sounds like the comodo firewall is causing the problem.
maybe you need to update your comodo firewall-rules for "firefox"?

Re: FF 101.0 Problem
I also have been having the issue of the browser crashing. Seems to happening when dealing with multiple tabs, HTML5 games, or lots of media on a page, like embedded videos. All happened after this Firefox update. Things were fine beforehand. Tried no extensions, or updated them and nothing worked.
Overall, its mainly this message "Gah. Your tab just crashed." when it gets bad dealing with the above. Never had this before.

Re: FF 101.0 Problem
Have you tried starting Firefox in Mozilla Safe Mode? http://kb.mozillazine.org/Safe_mode
If no improvement using Safe Mode, do you have the same problem if you create a new profile and test it with no extensions or non-default themes installed?

Re: FF 101.0 Problem
I tried it and its not attempting to load HTLM5 games and browser kicked my out of itself entirely, as if not in safe mode. Just constantly crashes.
In general, it also likes to do this flash white thing, and then either the webpage doesn't respond or the page looks funny. It also tells me firefox is running in the background and I need to close after I already close it and need to start it again.

Re: FF 101.0 Problem
Time to try a new profile then, as noted in my previous post.

Re: FF 101.0 Problem
Thanks for helping. After trying to tinker with settings, I think it was Windows update or something that was interfering with firefox. After dealing with Windows, it seems to be working fine now. I will keep an eye on it because Firefox never acted this weirdly before. Just never thought Windows update would just interfere with only Firefox.

Re: FF 101.0 Problem
If Avast/Comodo are "infecting" your browser, including new Profiles, then I'd expect the same results.
See if disabling both, at least temporarily, allows you to Quit cleanly.
(Maybe it is Avast/Comodo themselves, like injecting themselves into the https: stream kind of thing, or maybe it is by way of a browser extension that they provide,... don't know?)

jscher2000 wrote:A shutdownhang indicates that maintenance which should complete quickly was bogged down and a watchdog process needed to terminate Firefox because it didn't finish timely. This can be caused by setting Firefox to clear history when it closes. You could try pre-clearing what you want to clear before closing Firefox to give it a clean slate (Ctrl+Shfit+Delete).
If you are clearing cookies when Firefox closes, that feature has been getting a number of changes and you may need to file a new bug for that.
I unchecked this as suggested last week & it made no difference...today I re-enable it again & I haven't seen a crash all day.
Don't know why, maybe something in the path was corrupted.
