When I type a search in the addrtess bar and I hit ENTER, every word becomes separated by %25252525252525252520 and obviously search cannot be performed......
see this: I typed "what is the highest building":

Have you tried starting Firefox in Mozilla Safe Mode? http://kb.mozillazine.org/Safe_mode
If no improvement using Safe Mode, do you have the same problem if you create a new profile and test it with no extensions or non-default themes installed?

Dear Dan: Thanks for your kind reply, you have solved my problem... In fact it was the "yahoo search" extension that had messed it up. Although I do not know why this happened, I removed the extrension and now everything works perfectly.DanRaisch wrote:Have you tried starting Firefox in Mozilla Safe Mode? ht ... fe_mode

By the way, you don't need an add-on to search on Yahoo from the address bar. While you're on a Yahoo search results page, right-click the address bar and click the bottom item "Add [long name of Yahoo search engine]".
