I changed both of these, but search results (from the search bar in the URL bar) still opens in the existing tab. URL's do open in a new tab thou. I got it to work in FF70, but don't remember how.

How to get search results to open in a new tab in FF91
Browsers that don't have a conventional horizontal Menu bar (where it's been for 25 years) are poorly designed. Period. Stop 'fixing' something that isn't broke!

Re: How to get search results to open in a new tab in FF91
I have the following set in about:config:
browser.search.openintab to true ( whatever I type in the search bar opens in a new tab )
browser.tabs.loadBookmarksInTabs to true ( so all my bookmarks open in new tabs )
browser.urlbar.openintab to true ( whatever I type in the address/URL bar opens in a new tab )
These have been working for a long time. I'm on 101 now.

If you use the location bar then you need to force opening a new tab via Alt+Enter or via middle-clicking the Go button.

MarkRH;
I checked and found I had all three set to true and now the search results do now open in it's own tab which it didn't before. Does restarting the browser after any of those changes required?

Not required, the effect is immediate.videobruce wrote:MarkRH;
