I don't usually post here--I'm a SM user from way back--but I occasionally use FF and there's something I haven't been able to figure out.
I've set my trackball scrolling via system settings (Linux), and it works as expected in all applications except FF. With FF, it scrolls like half a page at a time! That's versus 3 lines as everywhere else. I've scoured its settings for some way to control this within FF, but if it's there I'm just not seeing it! FWIW, it's a Trackman wireless trackball.
Any ideas? Thanks!

Re: Controlling how much trackball scrolls
Not much help, but . . .
Open about:config and type scroll in the search input.
There is a large list of settings for scroll including number of lines, etc.
Suggest keeping a pencil and paper handy and note any changes so you can reverse them if necessary.
Good Luck.

you could use google-search to find information about how to adjust scrolling in firefox:

When you're ready to give up - and IF you "trust it" (not monitored by Moz) -- try this FF Addon (I use it) ........

I played around with a bunch of mouse- and scroll-related entries in about:config and it's much, much better now. Instead of cautiously and intelligently changing one at a time and testing it, well, I'm too impatient, so I changed a bunch of them and then tested it. So I have no idea which one(s) may actually be responsible, but it works as I want so I'm happy!
Thanks a lot! Appreciate it very much.

@LinuxUserSince1991 - changed items in about:config are in bold text so it may be easier to figure out which changes were made.
Glad there's a fix, tell us if you figure it out.

Re: [SOLVED] Controlling how much trackball scrolls
Yes, I've always noticed that with some of the entries, like numeric ones, but I don't think ALL of them changed the other day. I mean, if it was true/false and I changed it, I don't recall seeing it bolded afterward. But I wasn't paying much attention to that so I'll have to take a look.Grumpus wrote:@LinuxUserSince1991 - changed items in about:config are in bold text so it may be easier to figure out which changes were made.
